Step One

Measure the leather strap to a length of approx 15cm's allowing for the clasp you are adding. Make a hole approx 2mm from each end with a hole punch (the ends can be trimmed later for ease of adding the jump rings)

Step Two

Take the connector and add a jump ring to each side

Step Three

Straighten a length of 25cm's of 0.8mm wire and make a wrapped loop at one end, bend the wire to a 90-degree angle straight from the loop. Tuck in and sharp ends of the wrapped loop with chain nose pliers

Step Four

At one side of the connector open a jump ring and add the wrapped loop on the length of wire

Step Five

Centre the connector on the leather strap and hold it down securely with your thumb while you carefully bend the wire around the strap using flat chain nose pliers to pinch the bends on each side

Step Six

Wrap the wire around the strap approx 7 times then trim leaving an end of approx 5cm's. Using round nose pliers make a loop at the 5cm end of the wire and continue to roll up into a scroll with chain nose pliers

Step Seven

Repeat from step 3 on the other side of the connector making another wrap around the strap

Step Eight

Use jump rings to add the clasp you are using to the holes punched into the strap at each end. We have used a S-clasp and a extender chain
