If you love Labradorite then this tutorial is perfect for you. By following this step by step guide you will learn how to make a beautiful Labradorite, pendant necklace. Labradorite originates from the island of St Paul in Labrador, Canada. It is a gemstone that may appear dull and uninteresting in the dark however when the light hits it, the magic is revealed and an array of beautiful iridescent colours appear! Labradorite is also referred to as ‘Firestone’, as if you look closely within it you can see ‘dancing fire.’ To make this necklace you will need a Labradorite Cabochon and rondels. Step One

Take one end of a ribbon end finding including the jump ring and flatten it out with flat nose pliers

Step Two

Apply some hypo cement to the back of the ribbon end and stick to the centre of the rounded edge of the pear drop cabochon, leave to dry for 24hrs

Step Three

Find the centre of the strand of labradorite. You will use approx 21cm's of the strand for each side of the necklace, cut the strand at the centre take off a few rondelles from the centre point until you are left with approx a 21cm length for each side of the necklace, leave these lengths on the strand. Cut a length of beading thread longer than you need approx 80cm's long, thread on the pendant through the jump ring then a 4mm spacer bead and 3cm's of labradorite rondelles, repeat twice more adding spacer beads and rondelles ending with a spacer bead, add the remaining 11 cm's of the labradorite rondelles, then add a crimp bead and a bolt ring clasp.

Step Four

Pass the end of the thread back down through the crimp bead, crimp and add a crimp cover. Trim away the excess thread

Step Five

Repeat step 3 and 4 on the opposite side of the thread adding a jump ring to attach to the bolt ring clasp to complete the necklace
