How to create a 1920's Bridal Hairband

Learn how to make a 1920's bridal hairband with JewelleryMaker.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to help you create this beautiful bridal hairband inspired by the 1920’s era. This hairpiece would give any bride that you have in mind a special unique look on her special day. Every bride wants to look extra special on her wedding day and creating something like this using Keshi Pearls and Lace adds to the elegance of the look. Pearls are known for being a staple element in bridal jewellery due to myths and folklore that come from Greece. Step One

Cut out an assortment of shapes from your lace e.g flowers, leaves etc. Spray your pieces with stiffen stuff or dip in watered down PVA glue and leave them to dry for a couple of hours.

Step Two

Arrange your lace pieces in a design you are happy with and glue or stitch them in place to hold them together.

Step Three

With approx. 40cm's of 0.25 wire prepare the flowers with a potato pearl in the centre.

Step Four

Glue or stitch your main lace focal piece together and attach to the headband.

Step Five

Attach the flowers by wrapping the ends around the headband on both sides of the flower.

Step Six

Use the length of wire left from attaching the flowers to add Keshi pearls to fill in between the flowers on the headband and across the lace focal point by wrapping the wire a couple of times around the headband as you go.

Step Seven

Secure ends of the wire and cut off at the front of the headband so that no sharp ends get stuck in the hair while wearing.
