1

Step One

Using approx 1 meter of wildfire thread, thread on the needle and pick up the 4mm bead taking it to the end of the thread leaving approx a 14 cm tail, pass the needle back through the bead once. This is a stopper bead and will stop your beads falling off the end.

2

Step Two

Pick up 3 size 11/0's, 4 size 6/0's. Pass the needle back through the first size 6/0 bead.

3

Step Three

Pick up another 3 size 11/0's and 4 size 6/0's passing the needle back through the first 6/0 as in step 2, repeat until you have 5 sets as in the picture.

4

Step Four

Remove the stopper bead and pass the needle back through the first row of beads bringing it all together forming a pentagon shape, pulling the thread and keeping the tension and tying off with a knot.

5

Step Five

Pass the needle through the 3 size 6/0 beads so that your thread is coming through the top size 6/0 bead.

6

Step Six

Pick up 5 size 11/0 beads, 4 size 6/0 beads and thread back through the first size 6/0 bead, pick up 5 size 11/0 beads and pass the needle through the top size 6/0 bead on the next point of the pentagon. Repeat this pattern all the way around to form the star.

7

Step Seven

To secure the ends of your thread, thread the needle working around and back through all the beads. This will reinforce the star. Every now and again make a loop in between a bead and pass the needle through the loop making a knot. Pass the needle through a few more beads before trimming your thread.

8

Step Eight

Thread a length of monofilament through a bead at the point of the star and make a loop to hang from the tree or your window.
