Jewellery Making Tutorial: Pearl Wisteria Earrings Mini Make
A tutorial by Sean Kerr
Materials
- 2 lengths of chain, 2.5 inches each (I used sterling silver)
- 28 featherweight headpins (I used sterling silver)
- 1 pair of earring findings (I used sterling silver)
Tools used:
- Flush cutters
- Needle-nosed pliers
- Flat-nosed pliers
Step 1
Cut two 2.5-inch lengths of chain. Ensure the chain links are large enough to thread the headpin wire through.
Step 2
Thread a pearl onto a headpin, then use your needle-nosed pliers to form a small loop at the end.
Step 3
Attach the loop to the bottom link of the chain. Hold the loop in place with your needle-nosed pliers and complete the wrapped loop by making three wraps. Trim any excess wire and use flat-nosed pliers to smooth down any sharp ends.
Step 4
Repeat this process for each pearl, attaching one to every other link in the chain. I also saved the offcuts of sterling silver wire, just in case I decide to melt them down for future projects!
Step 5
Continue attaching pearls up the chain until you have 14 pearls in total.
Step 6
Repeat the process for the second earring. Finally, attach the top of the chain to the earring findings, and you’ll have a beautiful, yet simple pair of elegant earrings!
